Recycle Your Crisp Packets at Whittington School!

You can now take your crisp packets to Whittington School for recycling!

Please do this between 10am and 2pm any weekday during term time. Take them to the reception area and put them in the container provided. The time restrictions are to ensure that drop-offs (other than by parents dropping or collecting children anyway) don't add to traffic congestion.

Don't make a special car journey to school though or your carbon emissions will cancel out any recycling benefit! Longer-term it is hoped to have a drop-off point in the centre of the village - watch this space!

Your crisp packets will be sent to recycling company Terracycle and made into items like plant pots, park benches, watering cans and cool bags. The school also receives a small financial reward for each packet recycled. Walkers say they are aiming to make all their packaging 100% recyclable, compostable or biodegradable by 2025 - but in the meantime that's a lot of packets to keep out of landfill!
