Work on the Swan Meadow project is in full swing! This 1/2 acre site next to Swan Road has just been rotavated and we are on course to complete preparations and sow perennial meadow seed by early December.
We have already been granted funding for this courtesy of a donation to the village by the installers of the solar farms in Huddlesford and are thrilled to say that we have also now been granted £2000 by South Staffs Water from their PEBBLE Biodiversity Fund.
This will enable us to lay some wildlife turf which should give a great display by next May while the rest of the meadow, grown from seed, will likely take a couple of years to come to full fruition, but should then be spectacular - and (we expect!) hugely attractive to pollinators and other insects.
