Whittington & Fisherwick - 15 gardens in all

Organised by the Whittington & Fisherwick Environment Group (WFEG) and St Giles Church, the open gardens will take place on Saturday and Sunday (July 8 and 9) from 11am to 4pm.

Two years ago more than 700 visitors enjoyed touring the different types of gardens on display.

We have a fantastic range of gardens in Whittington of all shapes and sizes. From an exotic woodland garden to wildlife meadows, from raised vegetable beds to fishponds, from a sensory garden to orchards and polytunnels, Whittington really has it all.

Visitors can also enjoy the flower-filled troughs on Main Street, recently installed as part of the Village ‘River of Flowers’ project with funding from Tesco Bags of Help scheme.

There are 15 gardens open, ranging up to two acres in size, plus a Flower Festival in St Giles Church and a Flower Power display of paintings and craftwork by Lichfield Society of Artists on botanical themes.

Most gardens are within walking distance, but there is also a free minibus to reach the outlying sites. Car parking is available next to Church Farm on Back Lane.

Programmes cost £5 per adult (under 16s free) and act as an event passport giving entry to all gardens and full details of locations. These are available from the event hub in St Giles Church car park, on Church Street.

All proceeds will be split between St Giles Church and WFEG (for River of Flowers). Don’t miss it!
